A Dog Chat is essentially an on-line newsletter/discussion forum. The purposes of the chats are many-fold, but the common purposes are education and community-building. Several separate dog chats exist, some international, some national, and two local (the Manhattandogchat and Dogchat (Brooklyn-based).

By subscribing to a dog chat, you will receive a daily posting with all the day's contributions by the subscribership, and you yourself may e-mail a note, either to announce some bit of news, to respond to a letter, or to initiate a new line of discussion any time you like.
